Happy Mother's Day!!

I just wanted to wish ALL of my friends a Happy Mother's Day, whether you are a mom yourself, a grandma, or maybe just missing your own mom!  Take this day to reflect and enjoy the whole concept of where we would be without our moms!!

One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 31:28, "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, he praises her."

I love this simple scripture because it encourages us all to stay strong as others are always watching us and using us for their examples, their "true north" as it were. When our kids are young they watch us to see how we handle life and it's stressors. They learn a lot just by watching us. If we fly off the handle quickly and seem to unravel every time something out of the ordinary pops up, that is teaching them something. Maybe we don't want to teach them to fall apart when things go wrong as in our lives, that is what happens (and may happen daily!)

Just the same our family and friends watch us. Whether we realize it or not, we have a huge impact on those around us who mean a lot to us and some we aren't even aware of. We've all had younger classmates or newer workmates who watch and emulate us as people they feel "know what they are doing."

So do WE have all the answers? No, we don't. No one can have ALL the answers but we CAN handle life with dignity and grace, that part IS our choice. Life and it's challenges are going to happen to everyone who lives but the difference is all in how we approach and handle these challenges. When our friends, family, and loved ones see us facing adversity (or even just daily life) with a hopeful and cheerful manner, that affects them too. They learn by watching. Consistency is key.

We all desire to have our children "rise up and call us blessed" but that doesn't happen unless we truly ARE a good example to them and a bright light in their lives.

Here's to a wonderful mother's day for all of us who are moms, those of us who have moms but may be missing them, and any others who wish it to be so.

Till next time!
