Technically it is Saturday!!

But let's be honest. It's 1:09 on Friday night and I'm STILL awake.

Not for long, I'm headed to bed even as I type this. Yes, I'm walking down the hallway passing the thermostat and re-setting it a bit lower before I climb into my cozy bed for a nice warm slumber. I hate it if it gets too hot and stuffy when I'm sleeping but I pile a ton of covers over me. My husband hates this!

Before I go to bed I wanted to share these cute cards I made tonight. Well, I WAS making them but then I got busy with Kiera and then we had to take her home and then we sat and visited with my son who just returned from Yuma.

When we got home at 9:30 I made the cards.

I wanted to see how many color combinations I could put together and have them still look pretty with the "Hey, Chick" stamp set. Also, I was interested in trying to see how versatile the set was and wanted to try some Valentine-themed cards with them and maybe even an Easter theme. Didn't get to the Easter theme (weird since there's an EGG involved) but you tell me whether the Valentine card came out ok.

Here they are:

Overall, I'm happy with how they turned out. Everything on the cards is current Stampin' Up! stuff and I tried a couple of new (for me) techniques such as using the dauber to get color onto the Irresistibly Floral Designer specialty paper and also daubing the edges of some of the layered pieces to coordinate them with the primary layer of the card. I also mixed in a couple of other stamp sets, "Weather Together" got its umbrella in there and I also used the raining hearts from the same stamp set. It seemed to fit that card. The wink of Stella pen got a good workout in several of the cards and the gold foil doilies made it onto a card that was themed in Mardi Gras colors. One of the cards used some paper from Cupcakes & Carousels DSP as a layer that came out really nice. I had thought originally that it would be too busy but it looked great.

Let me know what your thoughts are on these super cute little cards. They feature my giveaway stamp set so if you are interested in winning the set for free (an un-used brand new set!!) just leave me a comment here letting me know what colors YOU would use to make some super cute Hey Chick cards.

And with that I bid you a good evening.
