New Stamp Giveaway for Monday!!

Hey, Everyone!!

It is a bleary and cloudy Saturday here in (normally) sunny Southern California...but that is OK because we need the rain. Just not five to six inches at a wallop.

Yesterday was like that, we had such a storm system move it it was like something out of a movie! I even took a short video because the super tall palm trees across the street from me were bent over so bad from the wind. Of course as soon as I started my video the wind dropped off!! Of COURSE! lol.
The high surf warning continues for today with surf as high as 10-12 feet in some locations. We have avid, die-hard surfers who can probably handle these types of waves but everyone else PLEASE stay home. Every year when we get high surf warnings we have weird people who just want to SEE the high surf, end up getting to close on a break wall or pier, and get washed out to sea. Don't believe me?? Go to YouTube, there are tons of videos that you will be sorry you looked at. (So don't go there lol)

For my stamp giveaway this Monday I am doing something different. It is a more simple stamp set as I'm realizing that many of my winners are either non-stamping people or people with limited stamping experience who want to learn more. Starting in March I will be offering one beginner stamping class each month come rain or shine. This will be super helpful for those just starting out because I know (as a beginner at some point) that at first your confidence could use a boost. After they start creating on their own they won't really need this type of class but in the beginning it is very helpful!

Here is the stamp set I will be giving away this Monday. "Lucky Elephant" is one of those simple stamp sets that after you start using it you realize just how versatile it really is!! It also has the added benefit of being able to make a complete card with one stamp set as it has its own sentiment. Using a variety of color, ink, methods, and embellishments you can doll up the card to be super fancy or keep it simple and stunning! Your choice.

In this card I used Melon Mambo ink for the elephant and Melon Mambo card stock for the card layer along with gold foil card stock to add some bling to the card. The other added feature that made this card special was the gold sequin embellishment that I added to the elephant's saddle trim. Just that simple piece stepped up this card from simple to STUNNING! With just a few items you can make a super cute card.
In this card, the elephant has been embossed which is a little more advanced technique and requires more specialized equipment such as a heat tool and embossing powder. Once you have all the supplies, it is simple (once you are taught) how to do this technique and get a lot of bang for your buck. Coloring in the elephant's saddle details with the Stampin' Up! markers just adds a pop of color.
Lastly, another simple card uses just Dapper Denim ink pad and some Delightful Dijon designer series paper as a background. Even though it is simple, the card is beautiful. You see a couple of dapper denim embellishments to round out the look.

So you see you can either make it into a simple card or "step it up" to the next level, your choice. It is always good to have choices, right??

On with the giveaway!!
