Saturday of Service

Better known as Servant Saturday.

Good morning, everyone!  It's still pretty early here. Had another late night last night putting together some new Christmas cards so I could take pictures of them. Today is Saturday and my sister is moving, so we are going to help her move! Now I know what you are thinking: You are too old to help!  Well, that part is true but I won't be doing much more than offering moral support. My hubby is driving his truck over there and we are bringing a couple of recliners that used to be mom's so my sis can have enough furniture for her new place. This goes under the heading of being of service.

When I was taking classes for my masters degree in nursing education, we talked about a concept called Servant Leadership. It is actually a style of leading others and if you've ever had a boss like this you will have remembered them. They actually try to help you, they don't sit on the sidelines and toss out orders, they actually get in there and get their hands dirty. If you need something, they will likely get it for you. Anything to help the team succeed.

What can you do today to be of service? Maybe it is just getting up and making breakfast for your family, maybe it's just feeding your pets. You might have something going on with friends or even church members. Whatever you do, when you give a service to others it does YOUR heart good, too!

Here are a few pictures of the cute cards I made last night. I actually got them from an online class I signed up for but I changed around some of the colors and decorations to suit me. The teacher of this class always encourages us to be as original as we want and I appreciate that. One thing I've noticed about crafters is we always have our own tastes and likes and dislikes. Please leave a comment below and let me know what you think of these cards! Oh and don't forget, I'll be having a enter just leave a comment on one of my blog posts. This giveaway ends the last day of the month which is almost here!!

I thought these cards were a little unusual for Christmas, love the delicate coloring and I used one of my embossing folders to make it look like snow. Not your usual Christmas colors but super pretty anyway! Then there were these:
They were made with Stampin' Up! Pretty Pines thinlets and the Christmas Pines photopolymer stamp set. They did not take long to make and I was really happy with how they all came out. I'd love to see what you guys are creating, leave me a photo in the comments and show me your masterpieces!
